Pals November Edit is made entirely of a recycled polyester and spandex mix, which is OEKO-TEX® Certified. OEKO-TEX® is a fully traceable fabric. Our fabric is produced in Taiwan from recycled plastic waste, with the fabric manufacturer intercepting and diverting what would be ocean waste. Check out our fabric certificate here.
Pals packaging is 100% compostable. Made from a combination of corn-based biopolymers, both our mailer bag and our product bags are certified for home and commercial compost.
- The mailer bag is made from a combination of corn-based biopolymers and composts in 180 days.
- The product bag is a combination of PBAT, a bio-based polymer which is compostable, and PLA, which is made up of plant materials such as regular field corn and wheat straw.
Our Design Partner
Our Design Partner for the November Edit is based in Indonesia. They have fulfilled all the Indonesia Government’s regulations on the treatment of employees, waste disposal & sanitation. Their employees are paid a living wage, double-overtime wages, receive medical insurance covering doctors’ fees, prescribed medication and hospital stays for themselves, their spouses and up to three children.
During the pandemic, 60% of the staff have been working from home to ensure their safety. Routine checks are in place to ensure safe working practices at home. The manufacturer provides an additional stipend to cover electricity bills and lunch, which would normally be provided free of charge on-site.
We’re just at the start of our journey, and we know that commitment to social and environmental sustainability is a journey in and of itself. And while we’ve made a good start, there’s always more to be done, and we’re excited to keep moving forward.
With our next collection we will be looking at:
- Finding ways to offset our carbon emissions from fabric production, manufacturing, transport and head office. We will report on our progress towards net zero with these plans.
Sourcing the best fabrics that don’t cause environmental damage during production of the yarn and dying processes in particular. We commit to being transparent with our pals about this.
Note on our Recycle Guarantee
Your Pals are designed to last you a long time, so long as you wash and dry appropriately. If you ever feel you want to part ways with your Pals you can send them back to us free of charge and we will guarantee they are responsibly recycled.
